Lingerie brands
Lingerie campaign ads are a light, a crop and a line of copy
The lingerie page most brands already have is a policy page. It tells you a flat-lay will survive Shopify, Stripe and a Shopping feed, and that an “uncensored” gallery will not. Useful, and it does not answer the question a founder actually types at 1 a.m.: how do the brands that feel expensive shoot the set so it looks like a campaign and not a department-store rail?
Make a clothed lingerie campaign still. You see the plan and the price before anything is generated.
The answer is not less clothing. It is light, distance and a sentence. This guide is that campaign, for adult intimates you sell. It sits next to the lingerie website and ads guide, which owns payments and Shopping, and next to the lingerie model photos, which owns the neutral catalog. If you only make one set of pictures, make the catalog. Read this when you are ready to make the second set and you need to know where it is allowed to appear.

A catalog answers fit. A campaign answers mood. You need both
Catalog light is flat and a little cool, the pose is a relaxed stand, and the whole set is in frame including the band and the strap joins. That picture tells a buyer whether the lace is floral or geometric. Campaign light comes from one window, the room is a real room, and the model is doing something ordinary: standing by the curtain, sitting on a made bed, turning because someone said her name. The lace still has to match. Mood is not permission to redraw a bow, a keyhole or a strap the sample does not have. In Blurbly’s own lingerie test, one generated catalog frame added a bow and a keyhole. A campaign frame, with more shadow, hides that kind of invention until a customer complains.
So shoot or generate the catalog first and pin it next to the screen. Every campaign frame gets compared to it: cup shape, band width, where the strap meets the cup, colour of the elastic. If the campaign frame is prettier and wrong, it does not ship. The lingerie product photography page is the catalog workflow. Do not skip it because you want the room to look like a hotel.
The three campaign setups that stay a product ad
Window and curtain: the adult model stands in profile to a sheer curtain, set on, an open cardigan or shirt over it if you want a layer. The light wraps one side. You can see the lace because the dark side is not the side with the detail. This is the hero for the lookbook and the homepage. It is a poor paid-social opener because the room, the bed edge in the background, and the skin read as “bedroom” before they read as “bralette”.
Edge of the bed: seated, spine long, both hands on the mattress, feet on the floor. Not reclined, not kneeling, not on all fours. A made bed with a normal duvet reads as morning. An unmade bed with a hand on the inner thigh reads as an invitation. You can feel the difference without a lawyer. Mirror at the side: the glass is a device so you can show front and back of the set in one still, which is a product reason to have a mirror. The moment the mirror is there so you can look at a body twice, crop it out. A strap on the shoulder is enough suggestion. A strap falling off, filmed as the action, is the undressing TikTok names.
Crop is the dial people are afraid to name
Full length says “this is an outfit”. From the hips up can still say that, if the band of the brief or the high waist is in frame so the garment is complete. A crop that starts at the collarbone and ends at the underbust is a chest picture. A crop that is only the hip and the strap of a thong is a groin picture. Meta’s nudity standards treat imagery focused on breasts, buttocks or the groin as sensitive even when fabric is present. TikTok’s adult content policy goes further and treats lingerie that exposes or implies intimate areas, and any emphasis on those body parts, as not allowed in ads. The crop is not a styling choice you discover in the edit. Decide it in the brief.
The campaign crop that still works on a brand site is the three-quarter: head to mid-thigh, set complete, hands visible and empty. On a paid placement, go wider, not tighter, and put the cardigan on. If a reviewer is going to argue, give them less to argue about. Tightening a rejected crop is the wrong repair. The right repair is the flat-lay you should have led with. The lingerie ad policy notes are the checklist. This paragraph is the reason those notes exist.
Copy with two meanings, and copy that is just a proposition
Lingerie copy has always winked. “Wear it under the dress” is a product instruction. “For the hours no one else sees” is a wink that still names privacy, not an act. “Take it off slowly” is an instruction, and it will get an otherwise ordinary still disapproved because policies judge the ad, not the photo in isolation. Write the wink about the garment: the neckline it sits under, the colour against a white shirt, the fact that the band does not show through knitwear. Those lines help a buyer. A line that tells the model or the viewer what to do in bed does not.
Sound works the same way. A quiet room tone and a factual voiceover can carry the window still on your site. A whispered proposition, or a track whose chorus is explicit, makes the same still unusable as an ad. If you need music, use something you have the rights to and listen once for the lyrics as if you were the reviewer. The small-brand first sales guide is about getting the first orders. This cut does not replace a size chart. People buy a second set because the first one fitted, not because the headline was clever.
What a generator will do with a campaign brief
Blurbly can attempt the window, the seated edge and the side mirror for an adult, set on, no nudity. Say that in the prompt. Also say which image model to try if the first one declines the packshot. In the lingerie test, Nano Banana Pro and Nano Banana 2 declined a plain lingerie product photo, and Seedream 4.5 made the catalog frames. A decline is the model’s safety check. It is not a cue to rewrite the prompt with more skin until something slips through. The no-filter product photo guide explains that refusal without promising a workaround.
Check sheer fabric. Generators either turn mesh opaque or erase it. Both are lies about the product. If the set is sheer, the honest campaign frame may be the set on a hanger in the same window light, so the mesh reads as mesh and you are not asking a model to invent a body behind it. Size range still matters more than the room. The same set on two body types, same window, same pose, tells the truth a single hotel shot cannot. Do not write “model wears size M” under a generated person. Put measurements on the page.
Where each frame is allowed to go
Flat-lay and white-background: site, Shopping, email, Meta, and any retailer. Window full-length with a cardigan: site, email, lookbook, and a Meta test if you are willing to lose the creative. Seated bed edge and side mirror: site and lookbook. TikTok ads: assume no, unless the frame could be a coat on a rack with the set styled as clothing and even then read the adult content policy again before you spend. Google’s sexual content policy calls out sexual fetish lingerie as restricted merchandise. Everyday sets are a different line. If you also sell fetish construction, do not mix those images onto the landing page of a regular bralette.
Payment processors are the other gate, and the policy guide already covers them. A campaign that stays dressed does not change your Stripe status. A gallery that is there for arousal does. If you cannot tell which one you are making, you are making the second one. Stop and go back to the flat-lay. Blurbly will not help you make the second one.
One set, two edits, one week
Use one cotton-modal set in two colours. Do not campaign five styles at once or you will not have time to check the lace.
- Monday: flat-lay and white background for both colours. These are the files Shopping and the ad account are allowed to see.
- Tuesday: window full-length on two adult body types, cardigan on. Compare every strap to Monday.
- Wednesday: one seated frame and one mirror frame for the lookbook PDF only.
- Thursday: write fit notes from real questions, not from the mood. Band, cup, stretch, lining, how sheer it is in daylight.
- Friday: email buyers the flat-lay plus one window frame. Boost nothing that you would be embarrassed to put in a wholesale line sheet.
- The following week: read every disapproval literally. If it says suggestive pose, do not recrop. Swap in Monday’s file.
