Write the spot as five shots
A product commercial is a short film with one idea. “This kettle pours exactly where you aim it” is an idea. “Premium, modern, sustainable and great for families” is a brochure. Pick the one feeling or fact the spot should leave behind, and every other choice gets easier: the light, the pace and the music all follow it.
Then write it as shots before you write it as a prompt. Four to six shots of three to five seconds each make a spot of 15 to 25 seconds. Give each shot one job: set the scene, show the product whole, show one detail, show it in use, end on the logo. If a shot has two jobs, split it. Short shots look deliberate and are easy to regenerate when one goes wrong, while long single shots tend to drift as they run.
