Which ads to make first
Starting from nothing, you don’t need twenty ads. You need enough different ideas to learn something from the first week of spend, and few enough that each one actually gets shown. For most small shops that means three videos and two or three statics, made for the placements you will really buy.
The three videos should each sell the product a different way. One opens on the problem the product solves. One opens on the product in use, with no setup. One opens on a result you can honestly show. Keep the middle and the ending nearly identical: the same close-up, the same offer, the same end frame. When one of them wins, you’ll know the opening did it.
The statics are cheaper and do a different job. A clean product shot with one benefit line and a price tends to work as a retargeting ad for people who already watched a video. Make one at 1:1 and one at 4:5 and most feed placements are covered.
