Photoroom alternative
Blurbly vs Photoroom: which one fits your product ads?
Photoroom is an established product-photo editor with very low cost per AI image at volume. Blurbly is not trying to beat that price — it generates a coordinated listing set and video ads from a single product. Here is the honest split.
Prices and policies checked October 2026. Third-party figures are labelled “reported”.
Side-by-side comparison
| Photoroom | Blurbly | |
|---|---|---|
| Pricing model | Monthly plans measured in AI credits and exports (Pro, Max, Ultra) | One-time credit packs; subscriptions exist but are not required |
| Price per image | Official page lists allowances (e.g. Pro: 8,000 AI credits, 1,000 exports a month). Reported plan prices (third-party): Pro about $12.99 monthly — roughly one cent per AI image if the 1,600-image cap is used | About $0.50–$0.71 per image (300 credits on the default studio model; range depends on credit pack) |
| Price per video ad | Video on Max and above (up to 50 generations on Max); reported Max price $34.99, so up to about $0.70 per video if all credits go to video (third-party estimate) | About $1.65–$2.36 per 15-second 720p video ad (990 credits) |
| Free tier | Reported: 250 exports a month with watermark and no commercial use (third-party, not confirmed) | Eligible new accounts can generate a free first image and preview a first video segment |
| Video ads | Yes, on Max and Ultra plans | Yes — UGC-style and motion product video ads, 5–30 seconds |
| Listing image sets | Editing, background replacement and AI scenes per image | Yes — a marketplace listing set (white-background hero, angles, detail, lifestyle) from one product photo or link |
| Restricted categories | Terms ban content that is "profane, obscene, or otherwise objectionable" or illegal; no product-category list | Content policy restricts sexual content, nudity and deepfakes — it does not ban product categories such as supplements, CBD, vape, swimwear or knives. Underlying image models can still decline some prompts, and you stay responsible for platform and legal rules. |

When to choose which
Choose Photoroom instead if…
- You edit or restage hundreds or thousands of photos a month — at volume its cost per AI image is a small fraction of ours.
- You need an editor for cutouts, batch background removal or touch-ups, not a generator.
- You want an established tool with a large user base.
Choose Blurbly if…
- You want one product link turned into a full listing set plus UGC and motion video ads.
- You sell supplements, CBD, vape, swimwear or knives and want a tool whose written policy does not bar the category.
- You would rather pay per generation than subscribe.

Frequently asked questions
Is Blurbly a cheaper alternative to Photoroom?
No. Photoroom's cost per AI image is far lower than ours at volume. Blurbly is a better fit when you want a complete listing set and video ads, not just edited photos.
How much is Photoroom?
Photoroom's pricing page lists plan allowances; the dollar amounts we cite are reported by third-party trackers (Pro about $12.99 monthly, Max $34.99, Ultra $99, as of October 2026). Check photoroom.com/pricing for current prices.
Does Blurbly remove backgrounds?
Blurbly generates new studio, marketplace and lifestyle scenes from your product photo. If you only need cutouts and batch background removal, an editor like Photoroom is the better tool.
Will my ads be approved on Meta or TikTok?
We cannot promise that. Ad platforms review every ad against their own policies, and some product categories are restricted or banned there.
