Nano Banana 2 for everyday product images up to 4K

Nano Banana 2 is Google’s fast image model. On Blurbly it generates and edits at 1K, 2K or 4K, offers 14 aspect ratios from very tall (1:8) to very wide (8:1), takes up to 14 reference images and can look things up on the web while it works. At 1K it starts at well under half the price of Nano Banana Pro.

Resolution, ratio and web search, and what each costs

Three settings decide what you get from Nano Banana 2 and what you pay. Resolution (1K, 2K or 4K) changes the price, and the From figure in the table is the 1K price. Web search, an advanced switch that lets the model look things up while it works, also adds to the price. Aspect ratio does not, so choose it freely.

A sensible default is 2K for listing images, which marketplaces let buyers zoom into, 1K for social posts and drafts, and 4K only for images that will be shown large or cropped heavily later. Turn web search on when the scene depends on something real and specific, such as a landmark or a seasonal detail, and leave it off for studio shots, where there is nothing for it to find.

Banner shapes other models cannot make

The ratio list is a practical reason to pick Nano Banana 2 over its siblings. Shop headers, marketplace store banners and email strips are often 4:1 or wider, and story placements are tall. Nano Banana 2 generates 1:8, 1:4, 4:1 and 8:1 directly, alongside the usual 1:1, 4:5, 9:16 and 16:9. Nano Banana Pro tops out at 21:9, and Seedream offers three sizes.

Set the ratio before you write the prompt and compose for it. An 8:1 banner needs the product on one side and generous empty space on the other for your headline, so say so (“empty space on the left for text”) and the composition will leave room. Add the headline in your design tool, or use GPT Image 2 if the text has to be part of the image.

One flat lay, five more images

Our tested clothing set shows the workflow Nano Banana 2 handles well. We generated one flat lay of a chore jacket at 4:5 and 2K, then made a ghost-mannequin shot, a studio shot on a model, a street-style shot, a fabric close-up and a styled outfit flat lay, all as edits with the flat lay as the only reference. The same keep line went into every edit prompt, describing the collar, the pockets, the buttons and the stitching.

Two results are worth knowing before you plan a set. The ghost-mannequin image was mild: the shoulders had shape, but the body and hem stayed fairly flat, closer to a jacket on an invisible hanger than a hollow-body composite. It works as a gallery image; for a hero, photograph the garment on a real mannequin. And the street-style shot lettered “BISTRO” and “BOOKSHOP” onto shop signs although the prompt asked for no readable signs. Generic words are harmless, but the model could as easily write a real store’s name, so choose locations without signage or check every sign.

When to hand a shot to Pro

Complex multi-reference instructions are where Nano Banana 2 drifts: a garment, a specific model’s face and a location in one image. When that happens, move that one image to Nano Banana Pro and keep the rest of the set on 2. Small jewelry with fine settings is another candidate for Pro; our tested jewelry set ran on it.

Left and right in poses are loose on Nano Banana 2. Asked for a left hand in a left hip pocket, our model used his right hand and the right pocket. Garment details written as “wearer’s left” held across all five edits, so use that phrasing for anything that must be on a particular side, and do not rely on pose directions for it.

How to prompt Nano Banana 2 for ads

  1. Name props as unbranded

“A takeaway coffee cup with no print on it” kept a real coffee brand out of our street-style shot.

  2. Light for colour accuracy

Overcast daylight kept olive and brown from shifting colour outdoors; warm sunset light shifts them.

  3. Use a 50mm look for fit

“50mm lens look at chest height” avoids the long-leg distortion of a low wide angle, so proportions read true for size decisions.

Example 1
Wide 8:1 shop banner: a row of five pastel ceramic mugs on a light oak shelf, soft morning light, generous empty space on the left for text.
Example 2
Edit image 1: put the running shoe on a wet city pavement at dusk with neon reflections, keep the shoe colours and logo exact, 4K.
Example 3
Flat lay of a summer skincare routine: sunscreen tube, lip balm, sunglasses and a straw hat on beige linen, overhead, 4:5.

Nano Banana 2 compared

  1. Nano Banana 2 vs Nano Banana Pro

2 is cheaper at 1K, faster, goes to 4K and offers more ratios; Pro is more reliable for complex multi-reference and on-model edits.

  2. Nano Banana 2 vs Seedream 5.0 Lite

Seedream 5.0 Lite charges a flat price per 2K image in three sizes. Nano Banana 2 adds 4K and extreme banner ratios, and its price rises with resolution.
