supplement ad policy guide
Supplement ads on Meta and TikTok in 2026: what the policies allow
Supplement ads run on both platforms, but weight-related products carry age limits and creative rules that decide which images you can use. Blurbly makes product images and video ads; it does not decide whether an ad runs. Approval is up to each platform, and its current policy is what counts.

What Meta's ad policy says about supplement ads
- Dietary weight loss or weight gain products such as supplements or pills must be targeted to people at least 18 years old. Meta: Health and wellness
- Close-ups of a specific body area, such as pinching fat, are not allowed, and neither are claims that results can be achieved solely by using wearable products. Meta: Health and wellness
- Ads may clearly indicate the time taken to achieve noticeable results, but promises of specific outcomes within a set timeframe without disclaimers or qualifiers are not allowed. Meta: Health and wellness
- Products and services marketed for general wellbeing are exempt from these age limits. Meta: Health and wellness
What TikTok's ad policy says about supplement ads
- Weight-management ads must be restricted to audiences aged 18 or older, and in the United States and Canada they may be allowed subject to age restrictions and local licensing requirements. TikTok: Weight management and body image
- Ads must not shame people about their bodies, suggest people need to look a certain way, or claim that appearance determines confidence or self-esteem. TikTok: Weight management and body image
- Not allowed: claims that the product alone, without diet or exercise, leads to weight loss or muscle gain, or that results are easy or certain. TikTok: Weight management and body image
- Supplement rules outside weight management are set per market. For example, several Latin American markets require a local-language disclosure of potential health risks, and Lebanon does not allow food supplements. TikTok: Healthcare and pharmaceuticals
Creative checklist for supplement ads
Our suggestions, based on the rules above. They are not platform text and do not make an ad approvable.
Use
- Product-on-counter and product-in-hand scenes in an everyday setting.
- Neutral, healthy-lifestyle context: kitchen, gym bag, breakfast table.
- Adult-only targeting for anything weight related.
Avoid
- Before-and-after bodies, measuring tapes on waists, fat-pinching close-ups.
- Copy that promises a result in a fixed number of days without qualifiers.
- Disease claims of any kind.

Supplements product photosFrequently asked questions
Can I show a before-and-after photo for a weight-loss supplement?
Meta prohibits close-ups of a body area such as pinching fat, and TikTok prohibits body shaming and "product alone" claims. Product and lifestyle imagery avoids both problems.
Do supplement ads have to be 18+?
On Meta, dietary weight loss or gain products must target 18+, while general wellbeing products are exempt. On TikTok, weight-management ads must be restricted to 18+.
Can I say how fast it works?
Meta allows clearly indicating the time taken to see noticeable results, but not promises of specific outcomes in a set timeframe without qualifiers.
Will an ad made with Blurbly be approved?
Blurbly cannot promise that. Approval depends on the platform, your claims and your landing page.
